Tree limb tips crane

A large boom truck/crane overturned on Friday while lifting a tree from the back garden of a house in Wyckoff, New Jersey.

The crane, a large Altec, was set up with all of its outriggers fully extended and was working over the back, lifting limbs from a tree that had been damaged by storms last month.

According to witnesses the operator had lifted a load and was extending the boom when the crane lost balance and went over, the boom nose ended up in a pond. The crane was employed by Pine Hill Tree Service.

There were no injuries reported and damage was minor. However it took fire fighters around seven hours to recover the stricken crane using two large wrecker trucks and a well preserved P&H telescopic owned by Vergona crane company.
