Nolim adds to sales team

Dutch outrigger mat and temporary road mat supplier Nolim, has appointed Ludo Maenen as regional sales manager based in the Netherlands, with responsibility for the Benelux region and on a temporary basis part of Germany.

He joins the company after a short spell as an account manager with window hardware supplier Nögel Montagetechnik but has spent most of his career in the construction, crane and aerial lift businesses.
Ludo Maenen

He began his career in 1985 with family company J.H. Maenen System Construction which specialised in the erection of industrial buildings including steel erection, roofing and cladding façades, all of which involved the use of access equipment. But after more than 20 years in the business he was badly injured after falling 10 metres from a roof, shattering both his ankles, and was told he would never walk again. Against all the odds he managed to get back on his feet again, and moved into the crane and aerial lift business, with tower crane company Kranenbouw, where he set up a subsidiary to focus the aerial lift market as Kranenbouw Platforms in which he owned equity. When the crane business ran into financial difficulties in 2021 he teamed up with the company’s finance manager Harold Amendt to form Hoogwerkerstunter to rescue the platform rental business from the ashes. In 2014 they formed Fontexx, which became the first Sinoboom distributor in Europe, it was also appointed as a Runshare dealer and then took on Eastman platforms.

Maenen left Fontexx in 2021 to join Jansen Verhuur which acquired Fontexx last year. After three years with the company, he moved and tried his hand in a different industry with Nögel, only to find that he missed the crane and access business.
Speaking of his appointment he said: “I have worked in the aerial work platform industry in the sales and in the rental, so I have a great experience on this area. I have built up a large network that I can now gratefully use. I feel very welcome in the professional team from Nolim, and our objective is to grow in the coming years.”

Nolim was established in 2007 and is now one of Europe’s largest suppliers of composite outrigger pads and road/ground protection mats. The company is based near Tilburg and is owned and managed by Rogiér de Laat. While the company only dates back 17 years the tough lightweight mats were conceived in 1993 and sold in relatively small volumes until the company was established.
