New CEO for Isoli

French international vehicle mounted lift manufacturer Klubb has appointed Paul Murphy of its UK operation CPL as chief executive of its Italian manufacturing subsidiary Isoli.

Klubb acquired Isoli just over a year ago, and has been looking to expand the business into new markets since then.
Murphy will take on the new responsibilities in addition to his role as chief executive of CPL, which he founded at the end of 2005 as Cumberland Industries and built into one of Europe’s largest vehicle mounted lift mounting & distribution companies. CPL was acquired by Klubb in early 2018 having been a Klubb distributor since 2016. The plan is to recruit a new general manager/managing director for Isoli to work alongside Murphy - one assumes with the intention to take over the day to day management of the business at some point.
Paul Murphy

A Klubb statement said: “Paul has successfully led CPL, part of Klubb group, to become a leading player for access equipment in the UK market and the plan is to use his experience to replicate this with Isoli in Italy. His appointment is a natural choice in the group.”

Murphy added: "I am excited by a new challenge. My team in the UK is phenomenal, and I trust them to continue to excel at what they do best. I would like to extend the same level of trust, teamwork and excellence with the exceptional group at Isoli."

Klubb group chief executive Julien Bourrellis said: "Paul and I have been partners for several years now, and I am very proud of the work CPL has done. Isoli deserves to be led by someone with the same integrity and pride, so who better to do it."

Vertikal Comment

This looks like a sound move, given how well CPL and the Murphys have worked with Klubb over the past four to five years. They are clearly on the same wavelength, while Paul Murphy has lived and worked in Italy in the past, while his wife and fellow director Michela is Italian. She has also worked with several Italian truck mounted manufacturers over the years and knows the industry well.

The challenge now is to find the right person locally to manage the Isoli business within the Klubb group for the long term.
