UK acquisition for Atlas

German loader crane and excavator manufacturer Atlas has acquired Wessex Vehicle Services through its UK subsidiary Atlas Cranes UK in an all share purchase deal.

Established in 1988 by managing director Nigel Mustill, the company is based in Compton Chamberlayne, just west of Salisbury, Wiltshire and is a commercial vehicle bodybuilder, which also manufactures bodywork for all vehicle types, serving multiple sectors from van conversions through to specialised and bespoke builds.
Atlas cranes and drop side bodies for Bradfords builders merchants

The deal was completed last week, but no details of the transaction have been released, it is intended to strengthen Atlas Cranes’ coverage in southern England.

Atlas Cranes UK has a strong following for its cranes among builders’ merchants, brick and block manufacturers, utilities and the UK Ministry of Defence.

The company said: “Our vision is clear in that the combination of these two successful businesses will strengthen both our positions in the market and help us to offer more comprehensive services to our customers. We believe there are significant synergies following the merger of these two industry leading companies.”
