New CEO for Fassi

Italian loader crane manufacturer Fassi has appointed Victor Gottardi as chief executive of Fassi Gru.
The move follows the company’s acquisition by UK, based international investment firm Investindustrial Group, which purchased a 70 percent stake last January.

Gottardi will work alongside chief executive of the Fassi group, Giovanni Fassi, and joins the company from more than five years working with Italian company Arag and US based Nordson, a manufacturer of precision technology for production lines. He was chief executive as well as an investor in Arag until it was acquired by Nordson in 2023. He became vice president of Nordson Precision Agriculture when it was rebranded.

He trained as a mechanical engineer before joining the family business, a technical engineering consultancy working for insurance companies. Five years later he moved into the hydraulics industry, starting in 2001 with Bucher Hydraulics where he was appointed sales & marketing director. In 2010 he left the company for Agop Oleoidraulica/Montanhydraulik where he was appointed as chief executive. After four and half years in the job he moved to a similar role with Walvoil, departing in late 2021 for Arag. He has also served as a director on a number of company boards, including Muncie Power products, Hydra Dyne and Wuxi Interpump.

Giovanni Fassi said: “Victor Gottardi’s arrival brings to Fassi valuable skills and experience that is fundamental for the development of the company and the group, which in the last two years has grown to reach the record revenues for its 60th year in business.

Gottardi added: “I am thrilled to take on the chief executive role at Fassi Gru. The consolidated technological and market leadership acquired in 60 years of history constitutes a solid foundation for the next phase of growth.”
