115 years and still going

Italian truck mounted lift manufacturer GSR was recently recognised for its longevity, having celebrated its 115 years in business.

The company featured among the few businesses belonging to Unindustria Rimini, the Rimini regional business association, that can boast an unbroken history of 100 years or more. And as such received a plaque at the association’s 70th anniversary.

An early brochure for Scalificio Riminese ladders


The company Scalificio Riminese was established in 1890 to build regular ladders, and later added mobile fire rescue ladders. It continued in this business, extending its product range until the 1950s when it began building the type of truck mounted aerial lifts that forms the basis for the range we see today.

In 1976 the company was acquired by Vincenzo Gentili and his company Gentili Oleodinamica. The company then became Gentili Scalificio Riminese, which was ultimately abbreviated to GSR, today the company builds a wide range of van and truck mounted aerial lifts at its Rimini production facility.
