JCB scissors for Warren

UK rental company Warren Access has taken delivery of four JCB scissor lifts, three 19ft S1930Es and one 26ft S2632E.

The 762mm wide S1930E has a platform capacity of 227kg, and the 810mm wide S2632E 250kg. The scissors were delivered by JCB dealer Scot JCB, and one of the new S1930Es went out on a job to replace light bulbs at Sage Gateshead, the live music venue on the banks of the River Tyne in north east England.

JCB S1930E working at Sage Gateshead

Warren Access director Graeme Warren said: “The iconic Sage Gateshead building has over 4,000 lights and its unique design means reaching them all is a challenge. The self-propelled scissor lift’s ability to travel while elevated and the fact it can fit inside the building’s elevators, make it perfect for this role where it has replaced a static lift. Traditionally we have specialised in light truck and van mounted platforms, but we have now introduced a small but growing fleet of self-propelled machines. By choosing JCB for these initial four machines, not only do we generate excitement in the market but we also maintain our reputation for supplying the best quality kit at competitive prices.”

Founded by Derek Warren in 1993, Warren Access is a family business currently run by his son Graeme and wife Michelle. The company has depots in Newcastle, north east England and Huntingdon, southern England, with a fleet of van and truck mounted platforms, scissor lifts, self propelled booms and spider lifts.

I know Eric, I was being ironic on that point. I still feel Warrens are doing a fantastic job, and expanding their powered access offering locally.

Eric L
UK manufacturer Barry ? Where are they built again ?

It will be intriguing to see how JCB penetrate and support the UK market. Other manufacturers could be accused of turning their backs on a maturing industry. A dangerous strategy when new UK markets are emerging all the time. Congratulations to Warren Access, good to see a UK Company buying from a UK manufacturer. Interesting times.
