Haulotte elevates its IPAF membership

Haulotte has become IPAF’s first ‘Sustaining Member’, a new membership category that provides additional support to the association.

The membership documents were signed yesterday at IPAF’s Europlatform 2018 conference in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The membership encompasses all 20 of Haulotte’s sales and service subsidiaries, 17 of which already have IPAF certified trainers.

Haulotte chief sales officer Stéphane Hubert said: “This agreement is a great opportunity for Haulotte to emphasise how vital safety and training are when offering work at height solutions. Haulotte is proud to mark this agreement, which highlights one of our main cornerstones: to offer a best-in-class and safe user experience to our customers.”

IPAF’s Tim Whiteman added: “IPAF is about making the powered access industry safer, ensuring people using work platforms to conduct work at height get to go home at the end of the day. The new category of membership is designed to recognise the importance of IPAF’s initiatives and how they contribute to the success, health, sustainability and profitability of the powered access industry, now and in future. Creating a legacy by investing in future generations of employees, designers, customers and communities is both a necessity and a responsibility.”

“We recognise the support this shows for IPAF and its aims to promote the safe and effective use of powered access worldwide, and we hope that other organisations will follow Haulotte’s lead and consider becoming sustaining members of IPAF.”

People seem a bit reticent to ask so, go on, I'll do it. This new membership category, 'Sustaining Member', you PAY for it, right? Or is bestowed by some sort of merit? I'm just guessing, but judging by the caption on that picture, this category is going to be some sort of business agreement that gives the use of some smart logo. I hate to seem cynical, but is there any point to this? IPAF has had it's head placed in the wrong part of it's body for years. Now it's scamming for new members of a made up SuperGroup which even SOUNDS like it's going to cost. Haulotte have fallen for it. What possible use is this going to be to the industry?
