The fallen platform

The platform is said to have dropped around 50 metres to the ground, with all three declared dead at the scene. The incident occurred around 9:00 am this morning, but there was initially a great deal of uncertainty as to whether they had fallen from the mast, one of its rest platforms had given way, or whether a ground based aerial work platform had been used. We have now received, what appears to be irrefutable information from a highly reliable source, confirming that it was a suspended platform that had failed along with a photograph.

The regional Occupational Safety and Security office from nearby Kassel is investigating what happened and have closed the site down.

If we learn anything more, we will of course update this item.
