Australian first for Northwest Crane

Australian crane rental company Northwest Crane Hire has taken delivery of the first 100 tonne Liebherr LRT 1100-2.1 Rough Terrain crane to be delivered in the country, along with a 300 tonne LTM 1300-6.2 All Terrain crane.

The two axle LRT 1100-2.1 features a five section 50 metre main boom, a 10.5 metre swingaway extension, along with the Variobase multi position automatic outrigger set up system. The crane went directly to work on a construction project.

The six axle LTM 1300-6.2 features has a seven section 78 metre main boom and a 70 metre luffing jib.

Northwest managing director, Bernie Johnson, said: “It is important to me to offer my customers reliable cranes and to have a service partner I can rely on. Which is why we have nothing but high quality machines in our fleet. It’s exciting to have the first crane of this type with us on site. The LRT 1100-2.1 offers a huge degree of flexibility in the field.”

Based in Pilbara, Western Australia, Norwest Crane Hire claims to have the youngest fleet in the region, which includes 18 Liebherrs across two locations as well as Pick & Carry and loader cranes.
