Tadano UK & Ireland business

Tadano has announced that it will merge its Demag UK business into Tadano UK at the end of this year.

Tadano UK will then relocate from its facility in Tankersley, South Yorkshire, to the Demag UK facilities in Long Crendon, from where the combined operation will represent both Tadano and Demag crane brands in the UK and Irish markets. The Tankersley facility will remain operational for a transition period but is expected to close by the end of the first quarter.

A letter from the company to customers said: “This consolidation of our operations will provide an opportunity to further capitalise on synergies and improve our operational efficiencies and promises you a more seamless product and business experience with Tadano moving forward."

“In the UK and Ireland business’ we have been taking steps to initially develop synergies within our sales and customer support functions, however it is soon time to formerly bring together both our businesses under one legal entity. We are also making every effort to secure both Tadano and Demag’s rich industry experience, in-depth knowledge, and proven processes in the UK.”

It adds that the benefits of working from a single facility will provide additional advantages, including:

- One point contact for service, parts, sales and general enquiries with harmonised customer account management.
- Standardised terms & conditions and credit policies
- Cross-trained sales, service and parts teams
- Common finance solutions through its partnership with Hitachi Capital

The move follows the February appointment of Alec Bell to oversee and manage both companies - see: New head for Tadano Demag UK.
