100 fire platforms for Romania

The Romanian General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) has signed a four year framework agreement with Austrian manufacturer Rosenbauer for the delivery of up to 100 45 metre B45 truck mounted fire rescue platforms. The order was placed through its local dealer Deltalift.

Mounted on Volvo FMX 6x2 chassis, the B45 features a four section main boom topped a long articulated jib to provide access to 15 storey buildings as well as outreach of up to 27 metres. Features include a 500kg platform capacity rated for up to five people, a 300kg rescue stretcher, fully integrated water, camera and lighting systems on the platform and variable outrigger set up.

100 Rosenbauer truck mounted fire platforms will be delivered throughout Romania over the next four years


An initial 18 units are scheduled for delivery this year with the remaining spread out over the four year contract. All 100 units will be distributed to fire stations throughout Romania.

Rosenbauer's B45 rescue platform


Kurt Wandaller, Rosenbauer area manager of Central and Eastern Europe, said: “We are delighted to equip the Romanian fire services with state of the art technology and see this as an endorsement of our increased engagement in Eastern European countries. With the B45, the firefighters are being provided with a work tool that will massively increase their capability.”
