LGMG adds to Euro team

Chinese aerial lift manufacturer LGMG has appointed Verania Costa as regional key account manager responsible for southern Europe, including France and Belgium.

Costa - or Costa Rivas as she was then known - began her access career in 2001 when she was recruited as a district manager for UpRight Europe for Spain and Portugal. After UpRight ran into difficulty as part of Tanfield and the economic crisis, she moved to Dutch distributor Platform Sales Europe, which also traded at that time as MEC Europe, while also selling UpRight aerial work platforms.

She re-joined the UpRight business as district manager for France in 2011, following its rebranding and merger with Snorkel. The following year she was promoted to cover all of southern Europe. In 2014, she left to join Instant UpRight – the original owner of the UpRight power access – as sales & marketing manager for southern Europe, France and the Benelux region. A job she held until last month when the Irish based company began running into financial difficulties.

LGMG’s European sales director Phil Graysmark, said: “We are delighted to welcome Verania to the team. Her knowledge of the market, industry and product will be a welcome addition LGMG, helping us to continue our growth in Europe.”

Costa added: “I am delighted to have joined LGMG, one of the largest aerial work platforms manufacturers in the world. With our experienced team, constant growing resources in Europe, I believe we have the vision, knowledge, and tools required to grow our market share in Europe, responding to the fast moving industry’s needs. I´m very enthusiastic about this new challenge and want to thank LGMG for this great opportunity.”

Vertikal Comment

Verania Costa is a consummate professional and well known and respected within the Iberian access market. Her appointment is another example of how the larger Chinese aerial lift manufacturers are now managing to recruit first rate industry professionals with years of hard won experience. In some cases, strong and talented individuals have been leaving the major manufacturers in favour of companies like LGMG and Sinoboom etc… Is this a sign of a market moving away from the domination by two or three major manufacturers?
