UK’s first Tadano AC 7.450-1

Welsh rental company Davies Crane Hire has taken delivery of the first 450 tonne Tadano AC 7.450-1 All Terrain crane in the UK.
Seven axle AC 7.450-1 boasts a seven section 80 metre main boom plus a wide range of extensions that can be built up from eight to 70 metres with offsets of up to 40 degrees. Additionally, a 24 to 81 metre luffing jib can be mounted on a 47.3 metre main boom to provide a maximum tip height of 135 metres.

The overall length of the carrier is just under 16 metres, while the overall length of the crane on the road is 17.62 metres, with an outrigger base of 8.45 metres - similar to many six axle cranes. Please register to see all images

The crane went straight to work on a number of jobs including a job at the Port Talbot steelworks, a tandem lift with a tower crane, and replacing a gearbox on a large wind turbine.
Director Neil Davies said: “The Tadano AC 7.450-1 was innovative and met our needs with 450 power on a six axle footprint, enabling us to service our valued customer and more."

Tim Leech, sales manager at Tadano UK added: “Davies Crane Hire has been a great supporter of our company, and we are sure this new crane will be a great addition to their fleet. The crane will also be featured on the Tadano stand at Vertikal Days and I can't wait for the visitors of the show to have a look at it, it will definitely be worth a visit.”

Congratulations on the purchase, it looks a fantastic piece of kit, I hope it exceeds expectations.
Is this a typo "a tandem lift with a tower crane" in the article or are we ignoring good old BS 7121 nowadays?
