More Liebherrs for Henneberger

German crane and heavy transport company Henneberger Schwerlast has taken delivery of two new Liebherr cranes - a 50 tonne LTC 1050-3.1 city type All Terrain crane and a 180 tonne LTM 1160-5.2 All Terrain. The LTC 1050-3.1 is Henneberger's third LTC crane, while the LTM 1160-5.2 joins several other five axle Liebherr cranes.

The three axle LTC 1050-3.1 features the original five section 36 metre telematic main boom plus a 7.5 to 13 metre bi-fold swingaway jib. Other features include a 7.8 metre elevating cab and the RemoteDrive system which allows the operator to control the crane chassis via remote control. The LTC 1050-3.1 is the third in the fleet

The five axle LTM 1160-5.2 boasts a six section 62 metre main boom, plus a 10.8 to 19 metre bi-fold swingaway extension, while three additional seven metre inserts between boom nose and swingaway can provide a maximum tip height of 104 metres and a maximum radius of 78 metres.

The LTM 1160-5.2 adds to its five axle machines the largest being an LTM 1250-5.1, the company's largest crane. The new crane will be used in the assembly of precast concrete parts and heavy machinery, particularly in the automotive and glass production industry.

(L-R) Mario Henneberger, Steffen Rauchmaul and Chris Schima - of Henneberger

Based in Thema, eastern Germany, the company was established in 1991 and is owned today by the second generation family member, Mario Henneberger, who said: "The manoeuvrability and travel characteristics of the LTC are excellent and Liebherr has further improved the crane in many details, for example the assembly jib with roller set and hook traverse. While various camera systems make the operator's work easier and more pleasant."

"We have aligned ourselves with one manufacturer. With Liebherr, we appreciate the uniform crane control, from small to large cranes. This allows us to make optimum use of our driving personnel in times of shortage of skilled workers and also to easily bridge downtimes due to vacation or illness. Liebherr's service is also exemplary, solving problems quickly and thus significantly reducing downtime. VarioBase is the most ingenious invention ever. We need it every day. It allows us to use our cranes much more flexibly and do jobs that would otherwise not be possible."

To me, short pants are suitable for a day at the beach, not for operating or rigging in a crane.
