Active's little piece of aviation history

The only Concorde due to go on display to the public in the UK has been reassembled and renovated with the help of three Genie platforms rented from Active rentals of Hamilton, Scotland. The aircraft, G-BOAA will go on display to the public in March 2005 at the museum of flight in East Fortune Scotland, part of the National Museum of Scotland. The aircraft was partially dismantled and left Heathrow by road to the coast, it then traveled up the east coast by sea.

The job was made all the more special as the actual Concorde model, G-BOAA, was the first commercial plane to fly from London to Bahrain back in 1976.

The unit has now been reassembled and is undergoing a full renovation by Air Salvage International. At the same time the hanger in which it is being displayed is undergoing a refit to create the appropriate lighting and backdrops for the display.

Active had two Genie GS 2668 and a Genie 45/25E working on the project.
