Record quayside crane from Huisman

Huisman China – subsidiary of Dutch based heavy crane manufacturer Huisman – has completed the installation of a 2,400 tonne quayside crane at its fabrication yard in Zhangzhou, Fujian.

The installation of Skyhook at the Xiamen port on the Taiwan Strait


The crane has a heavy lift configuration capable of lifting 2,400 tonnes at a distance of 30 metres with a maximum lifting height of 100 metres. It also has an extended reach configuration capable of lifting 200 tonnes to 90 metres with a maximum lifting height of 140 metres and can travel the entire length of the 380 metre quayside, carrying its maximum capacity.

The Skyhook 2,400 tonne quayside crane


Named the Skyhook crane and located at the Xiamen port on the Taiwan Strait the company claims it is the strongest moving quayside crane in the world. The company said it will create new business opportunities with handling, storage and installation of heavy project cargo.
