Motion alarm mimic

A report in a Scottish newspaper relates how a family’s pet parrot is driving them mad by repeating the motion alarm of an aerial lift working next door.

Michelle and Iain Cassie, of Newmachar, Aberdeenshire, said that the noise from construction work errecting a new community centre alongside their house was bad enough, but is made much worse by their African Grey parrot Simba “repeating the beeping noise that the cherry-picker makes when it moves. We are hoping that when the work finishes in January she will stop the noises."

A strong case for smart alarms.
