First acquisition for Durante Rentals

Durante Rentals, New York’s fastest growing rental company, has acquired Quality Rent All of Carmel, New York, its fifth location. The Quality business will be merged with Durante and the Carmel location re-branded.

Durante was established in the Bronx, New York City in 2009 by John and Anthony Durante and Christopher Jones. The company now has four branches of its own in Bronx and Queens within the Five Boroughs, together with Elmsford and Mt. Vernon in New York State. The product range includes push around one man lifts and self-propelled boom and scissor lifts from Genie and Skyjack.

Quality Rent All was established in 1989 by Tim and Marilyn Plummer and tends to focus on smaller equipment and tools, although it does offer scaffold towers. We understand that the Plummers have decided to retire.

John Durante said: “The Plummers built a really nice business over the years and we are pleased that they will be our first acquisition. We are eager to welcome Quality Rent All customers and their staff to the Durante team. We are extremely excited to work with their nephew, Lou Alagno, who has been promoted to manage the new store. Lou has 16 years of experience working for his aunt and uncle and has literally ‘grown up’ in the business”.
Durante plans to expand the current product line at the Quality facility in Carmel, including boom lifts and loaders.

Chief executive Anthony Durante added: “This acquisition is critical to our rapid growth strategy in the New York area. It allows us to better serve our valued customers located north of our current Elmsford location. It is perfectly aligned with our long-term goal of developing emerging markets to expand our overall presence.”

Chief financial officer Chris Jones said: “Durante Rentals has been extremely successful opening up cold starts in the NY Metro area. While there are sure to be challenges ahead, I know our talented staff will do a great job of integrating an existing company into our culture and our way of doing business. This successful integration will serve as the template for other potential acquisitions in the area.”
