Liebherr for German port

Euroports Germany has taken delivery of a 144 tonne Liebherr LHM 550 mobile harbour crane for its Rostock terminal, with a second unit on order.

The LHM 550 has a radius of 54 metres and comes in the two rope configuration, and it will be the largest mobile harbour crane in the Port of Rostock. In order to cope with the maximum ground bearing pressures stipulated in the tender, Liebherr supplied the port with specially adaptable pads. Both cranes will be used for bulk cargo and containers. The First crane went to work on a 1,295 metre long quay that handles a range of fuel products, including diesel, crude oil and biofuels among others.

Managing director Karsten Lentz said: “With this investment we will further enhance the performance of Euroports Germany. The new cranes will enable us to work more universally and with a higher load capacity at all berths and at the terminal. We look forward to continuing our cooperation with the Liebherr team.”

We thank them for the trust they have placed in us and we will support our neighbours in all matters.”
