New presidents for Bobcat

Doosan Bobcat has restructured its global organisation with a number of new appointments intended to bring the regional operations closer together into a more cohesive team. They include the appointment of new European and North American presidents.

Gustavo Otero has been promoted to president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, following a two and half year stint as European region vice president of compact equipment and telehandlers. He replaces Alvaro Pacini who moves to a global procurement role. Otero will be based at the company’s Czech Republic office in Dobris. He joined Doosan in 2015 as vice president Heavy Business Unit, following three years as general manager of excavator attachment company Geith International in Ireland.

He began his career in 1999 as a project engineer with Spanish automotive component supplier Dalphimetal in Vigo Spain, moving up through the ranks to project manager and was promoted to platform manager when the company was acquired by ZF TRW in 2005, and engineering manager in 2008, leaving to join Doosan in 2015.

Mike Ballweber, currently senior vice president, commercial business North America has been promoted to North American president, based in West Fargo, North Dakota. He takes over from chief executive Scott Park, who has been handling the role on an interim basis since September 2018. Ballweber joined the Bobcat company in 1998, holding a number of different jobs, including vice president product management and strategy and vice president of aftermarket and product support, before taking over as president of Doosan Portable Power in 2013. He added the senior vice president commercial business title to his duties at the start of 2016.

Alvaro Pacini has been appointed senior vice president, global procurement, having been regional president for Europe, Africa Middle East region since 2017 he will will relocate to the company's offices in Minnesota, USA. In his new role he will be responsible for all global procurement functions, including regional governance and commodity strategic management. He joined the company in 2011 as vice president European supply chain and total quality management, becoming vice president of European operations in 2016.

He began his career with automotive supplier Valeo as programme manager climate control at its Brazilian operation. He held increasingly senior jobs with the company moving to France and then Spain, when he left to join Delphimetal around the time it was acquired by ZF in 2005. In 2008 he moved to the USA with ZF as director of purchasing, moving back to Brazil in 2009 with French automotive supplier Faurecia, leaving for Bobcat two years later.

Alvaro Pacini



Troy Kraft becomes senior vice president global engineering, having led the North American engineering team for almost 12 years. He also joins the global leadership team and is now responsible for compact equipment product development, product safety and international standards worldwide. He will be based at Bismarck, North Dakota.

Finally Youngmin Kwon becomes senior vice president, global strategy & operational excellence, total quality management, based in Seoul, South Korea. He joined Doosan in 2000 and has been responsible for global corporate and manufacturing strategy and total quality management throughout the group.
