Another hoist acquisition for BrandSafway

BrandSafway has acquired New England based mastclimber, scaffold, suspended platform and hoist rental company Bowline Construction.

Established in 2004, Bowline is based in Norwell, Massachusetts, around 15 miles to the south of Boston. It has provided façade access systems on a number of high profiles projects, such as the Boston’s Mandarin Oriental hotel, Yale and Harvard University and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.

BrandSafway Services president Art Eunson said: “Bowline brings over 15 years of elevator and motorised access expertise to BrandSafway, along with an outstanding reputation. This will allow us to provide a full suite of powered access technologies throughout the New England region and demonstrates our commitment to investing in and expanding our hoist and motorised offerings.”

“By leveraging the assets, expertise and reputation of Bowline, we plan to establish a motorised hub – a centre of excellence for motorised solutions – at the Norwell location. This new hub will operate in close collaboration with our BrandSafway Boston Branch.”

Cal O’Callaghan, president of Bowline added: “This is an exciting opportunity for our employees as well as our customers. By joining the leading access and industrial services company in North America, we can further grow our business and provide an enhanced level of service to our customers.”

BrandSafway is now a major conglomeration of scaffold and mostly non-mobile access equipment rental and contracting businesses. Have incorporated Harsco Infrastructure, SGB, Spider and Hünnebeck. In the past year or so it has been moving heavily into the hoist rental market this being the fifth such acquisition this year, following Sheedy Hoist in California, Century Elevators in Texas and Cabrillo hoists in Southern California, along with Taylor’s Hoists / Lyndon Scaffolding in the UK.
