£4.1m order for Alimak UK

Swedish hoist and mastclimber manufacturer Alimak has won an order worth £4.1 million to install a number of its building maintenance access platform systems at 21 Moorfields, a new commercial building in London.

In total, the company will supply nine of its Manntech and CoxGomyl building maintenance units to provide access to the building’s façade and windows. The first units are scheduled to be installed in 2021, with the order representing the company’s second largest in the UK after its contract for the Shard in 2012.

Tormod Gunleiksrud, Alimak chief executive, said: “This order showcases Alimak’s unique capability to deliver projects of this size which very few others can. As a market leader in vertical access solutions, we were able to provide the best solution for the intricate 21 Moorfields building through our wide range of building maintenance units. We also have a strong relationship with both the principle contractor, Sir Robert McAlpine, and the developer, Landsec, and I am pleased to continue our collaboration.”
