Forterra – Bison extends Ainscough contract

The Bison Precast division of UK based building products group Forterra has appointed Ainscough Crane Hire as its preferred crane supplier for a further three years.

Ainscough, which has held the deal for the past three years, will continue to provide the company with as many as 40 cranes a week from its national hire centre in Leyland.

Forterra chief executive, Stephen Harrison, said: “Construction sites are synonymous with high risk activities. Having safe, serviced and certified equipment is essential to Forterra and by using a reputable national supplier such as Ainscough, we have confidence that crane operators will arrive on-site with serviced equipment for maximum reliability to achieve our client’s installation dates.”

Derek Gow, commercial director of Ainscough Crane Hire, added: “We have developed a close working relationship with the team at Forterra, and are very pleased to have been appointed as the company’s primary crane supplier for a further three years. The experience we have gained through working together, supplying over 2,000 crane hires a year, means we know exactly how to safely fulfill their requirements by good planning and communication."

Based in Northampton, Forterra manufacturers bricks, blocks, precast concrete and paving, from its 18 production sites throughout the UK. Its Bison Precast concrete division is one of the largest precast concrete manufacturers in the country operating out of three locations in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
