Fatal crane repair

Two mechanics died yesterday while working on an articulated tractor crane in Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh to the east of Chennai in India.

The two had been repairing the crane – which is owned by a quarry - in a workshop in the town and were carrying out some welding repairs on the crane when its fuel tank caught fire and exploded. The two men took the full force of the blast and were killed outright, while two others are said to have been seriously injured and are reported to be in a critical condition, while two others received less serious injuries.

An investigation into the incident has been launched.

It looks clearly to have a diesel motor, yet diesel doesn't explode like that.Very odd.
Thoughts go out to the family of the deceased :(

This machine is what they call a hydra in India.
But fuel tank is located at the rear not in the centre,They usually have a toolbox in that location.
