Record contract for Mammoet

Mammoet has landed its largest contract ever involving a series of lifts totalling more than 500,000 tonnes for the Arctic LNG 2 liquefied natural gas development project in Murmansk, Russia.

Mammoet will be responsible for all unloading, transportation and installation operations for the project, and will provide a fleet of cranes topped by its 1,600 tonne Terex CC8800-1 crawler crane as well as 2,000 SPMT axles and several Mega Jack lifting systems.

In total it will help install 42 modules weighing between 8,000 and 17,000 tonnes onto concrete gravity based structures over the next four years. It will also provide all unloading, lifting, jacking and skidding services at the purpose built shipyard near Murmansk.

Once complete the Arctic LNG 2 will produce approximately 20 million tonnes of natural gas a year
