New Manitex utility crane

Manitex has launched the 41 tonne C450U utility crane.

The TC450U is based on the current TC450 and features a five section 43 metre boom, plus a 9.4 to 16.8 metre telescopic extension, taking the maximum tip height to 62.2 metres.

The crane can handle its maximum capacity at just over two metres radius or handle 3.6 tonnes on its fully extended boom. It is mounted on a five axle chassis – four permanent axles plus two retractable axles – and is a variant of the existing TC450 Series but modified for the utility market.

It is available with several options, including dual rating, and aerial work platform with intensifier, pole guide, auxiliary power unit, and other options that allow it to be customised for specific applications.

Director, sales & marketing Randy Robertson said: “Manitex collaborated with a north western power provider to develop this application specific machine capable of various tasks with the ability to work in remote areas and harsh conditions. The resulting product is impressive and Manitex looks forward to introducing this machine to power providers and utility contractors across North America through Manitex’s dealer network.”
