New MD for Hyva Germany

Loader crane manufacturer Hyva has appointed Olav Berkelmans as managing director of Hyva Germany.

Berkelmans will be responsible for the development of sales strategies and the main distribution channels for Hyva’s entire range of products in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He joins the company from international logistics group Kuehne + Nagel where he was global business manager, having joined the company in 2014. Prior to Kuehne + Nagel, he spent six and a half years with Penske Logistics, progressing from project manager to supply chain manager, having started out his career with Jan de Rijk Logistics in 2001, before moving to Penske in 2007.

Berkelmans said: “Our focus will be to double the size of the German, Austrian and Swiss business over the course of the next three to five years. We will achieve this by delivering improved customer service and increased customer satisfaction. We will get physically closer to our customers by adding more partners to our combined network of sales, local Hyva dealers and Hyva certified service partners and workshops, in line with the Hyva International service strategy. We will also be driving more efficiencies within the processes and procedures we need to add value to the chain.”

Olav Berkelmans has joined Hyva Germany as its managing director

Martin Kolkman, vice president of Hyva international - western Europe, Middle East and Africa, added: “We are very pleased to welcome Olav to Hyva. We set a very ambitious, but achievable plan for our business developments in Germany, Austria and Switzerland two years ago. Olav will be central in our effort to continually build relationships and achieve our goals together with our partners and customers.”

Founded in 1979, with headquarters in Alphen aan den Rijn, in the Netherlands, Hyva offers a range of hydraulic products including loader cranes, hook and skip loaders and recycling units.
