New crane for 40th anniversary

UK based rental company PP Engineering Crane Hire has taken delivery of a new 60 tonne Liebherr LTM 1060-3.1 All Terrain crane as it celebrates 40 years in business.

The three axle crane features a six section 48 metre main boom that offers a maximum radius of 40 metres. It is also equipped with full remote controls, a Stage V diesel engine and Liebherr’s VarioBase outrigger system. The crane is the company's fourth Liebherr crane, which joins a LTM 1090-4.2, LTM 1040-2.1 and LTM 1050-3.1.

The family owned company was founded in 1980 by Phil Patching, but is run today by Sue Patching, Lucy Patching and Emma Hepworth.

Sue Patching said: “We have a great relationship with the team at Liebherr and this new machine will have the same quality and reliability, that will exceed our customers’ requirements and expectations, as have the other Liebherr cranes in our fleet.”

Steve Elliott of Liebherr added: “On behalf of Liebherr I congratulate the team at PP engineering on their 40th anniversary. It is great to be able to supply a new crane to mark this special occasion. I am sure the LTM1060-3.1 will fit perfectly into their operation as it does with the majority of customers here in the UK. It’s a real pleasure to do business with Sue, Lucy and Emma and I wish them all the very best for their continued success for the future.”

PP Engineering is based in Rotherham, northern England and runs a fleet of All Terrain and pick & carry cranes, topped by a 220 tonne Tadano ATF 220G-5.
