Palfinger PK 110002 SH for León

Spanish crane and transport company Javier Merino Transportes y Grúas has taken delivery of a new 30 tonne Palfinger PK 110002 SH.

Sold, installed and delivered by Palfinger dealer for León, Talleres Tailon, the PK 110002 SH is mounted on a Volvo FMX 4 84 TR1CAX 8x4 Euro 6 truck with a chassis developed by the Palfinger Assembly Centre. It has a load moment of 98.7 tonne/metres, a maximum lift capacity of 30 tonnes and a maximum reach of 34.3 metres at which it can handle 680kg at a radius of 13 metres. It can also handle 6.8 tonnes at a nine metre radius.

The boom has eight hydraulic sections and can elevate 10 degrees about the horizontal. The six section telescopic PJ 170E jib, can be fitted with two manual sections for a tip of 39 metres. 360 degree continuous dual motor slew is standard, while the unit is equipped with twin rear jacks for additional capacity over the back of the chassis, Rexroth-PALcom P7 radio remote controls, a 3.5 tonne foldaway winch with dual sheaves and an EN280 pre-installation package for the fully integrated work platform attachment.

The PK 110002 SH was also supplied with a range of Palfinger technology, including the High Performance Stability Control System (HPSC) system, which provides automatic variable outrigger set up, and its P-FOLD automatic unfolding and stowage of the boom. The SRC system which automatically adjusts the hoist cable to maintain a constant hook position has also been installed as well as its AOS - Active Oscillation Suspension system which provides a dampening effect on the boom to smooth the operation and help avoid shock loading from sudden operation.

Javier Merino Transportes y Grúas is based in León, northern Spain, and specialises in the transportation of industrial machinery. Javier Merino himself, started out as an employee with one of the largest transport and lifting companies in León, but left to set up on his own in 2002.
