Fassi for Crestchic

UK based load bank manufacturer Crestchic has taken delivery of a Mercedes 6x2 Actros truck fitted with a 34.1 tonne/metre Fassi F365 loader crane.

Mounted to the rear of the chassis the F365 has a maximum capacity of 11.5 tonnes at 2.7 metres and can handle up to 4,170kg at a radius of 8.15 metres. Features on the chassis include Mercedes’ MirrorCam system and its Active Brake Assist 5 system which uses a combination of radar and cameras to apply the vehicles brakes by up to 100 percent should a pedestrian cross its path.

Crestchic transport supervisor Paul Howlett said: “We put in a lot of work with the dealer and Mercedes-Benz Trucks to get the specification of this Actros absolutely right, and the result is a vehicle that’s perfectly suited to our requirement for working in busy urban areas. The MirrorCam system has been particularly well received. The drivers initially expressed some concerns about how they would get on with it, but after just a few minutes behind the wheel they were all converted. They now tell me it’s a huge improvement over a traditional mirror arrangement.”
