Two Demags for Mikschl

German crane rental company Mikschl Autokrane has taken delivery of two Demag All Terrain cranes with a 45 tonne AC 45 City and 60 tonne AC 60-3.

The AC 45 City has a 31.2 metre main boom, plus a 7.1 to 13 metre offsettable extension to offer a maximum on board tip height of 45 metres. The crane’s IC-1 Plus control system with Flex Base also monitors outrigger set up and slew position to calculate a specific load chart for the actual setup.

The handover

The AC 60-3 has a 50 metre main boom plus an 8.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension. The cranes also feature the Terex/Demag IC1-Plus control system with Flex Base outrigger set up.

Based in Aichach, on the north east side of Augsburg, Bavaria, the company runs a mixed fleet of telescopics topped by a 220 tonne five axle Demag AC220-5 along with all three of Liebherr's MK self erecting mobile tower cranes.

General manager Roland Mikschl said: “It wasn’t an impulse purchase, of course. The cranes in our fleet are almost exclusively Demag, meaning that we are very familiar with their cranes. Accordingly, we know that we have purchased very good and innovative products once again by getting these two new cranes. We appreciate the innovative IC-1 Plus control system, with the new Flex Base system with outriggers that can be extended to any point. These systems, especially if combined, make it possible to take advantage of the cranes’ maximum available lifting capacity regardless of the conditions.”

"Regardless of whether the issue is technical or financial – we always negotiate on an equal footing with Tadano Demag in an atmosphere that is marked by absolute trust. Tadano has made the right choices and set the course for a solid future with a sound and integral approach.”
