Hard details on the new facility have yet to be released, but it is located just off the 1-95 interstate that runs north-south through the city. It is intended to be fill in the gap between its branch in Charlotte, North Carolina and the Baltimore/Washington DC area. The company is currently recruiting staff for the new facility. The new facility will become part of the company's Mid-Atlantic region under Monty Glover along with existing branch locations in Baltimore, Maryland, Charlotte, North Carolina and Charleston, West Virginia.

Chief executive Bryan Carlisle said: “Our most valuable resource is our team. As Maxim adds new locations, we recognise the need to be local for local. We are pleased to be able to continue to provide jobs and futures for our current team as well as those who join us from the greater Richmond area.”

“Our Richmond expansion is a key component of our continuous improvement process to ensure that our customers receive total coverage anytime, anywhere in the USA. Our team is hyper focused on supporting our customers on every type of project and with our fleet of nearly 3,000 cranes.”

Chief operating officer Frank Bardonaro added: “We have been able to support the Virginia market successfully on a project basis with tower, crawler and Rough Terrain cranes for many years. Our ability to remain the perfect partner at a national level depends on identifying the needs of our customers today, anticipating their needs of tomorrow and partnering to find the perfect solution. The expansion ensures our further support of our partners and their project work as well as the daily work throughout the region.”

“We look forward to serving our customers and team members as we continue to expand our business. I am honoured and looking forward to meeting our future technicians, sales reps, operators, and customers in Richmond! This expansion is good for Maxim, our customers and our Nation during such a pivotal time in our history."
