JLG EC520AJ for Xtra

Dutch rental company Xtra Materieel has taken delivery of a new 52ft JLG EC520AJ battery powered articulated boom lift, one of the first to arrive in the Netherlands. The new machine was purchased through the local distributor Riwal which has also taken some units into its rental fleet.

The EC520AJ offers a working height of 17.8 metres with an outreach of 10.65 metres at an up & over height of 7.3 metres and a 250kg unrestricted platform capacity. It has an overall width of 2.35 metres and weighs just under eight tonnes. Power comes from a lithium-ion phosphate battery pack that can be opportunity charged, with the onboard charger taking the batteries from zero to 30 percent in less than an hour.

The boom has two wheel drive with electric wheel motors on the rear axle, while the front steering axle oscillates. It is said to perform well on rough terrain but is also perfectly at home inside.

Rotterdam based Xtra Materieel already runs JLG hybrid booms with the 34ft H340AJ and 80ft H800AJ in its fleet. It has ordered JLG’s new ERT all electric Rough Terrain scissor lift which are due to go into production shortly.
