650t crawler for MCM

French crane rental company MCM Groupe Autaa has taken delivery of a 650 tonne Demag CC 3800-1 lattice boom crawler crane.

The CC 3800-1 can handle its maximum capacity at a 12 metre radius and take 110 tonnes to a height of 120 metres. It has also been supplied with the Boom Booster kit which the company claims can boost the crane’s lifting capacity by up to 65.3 percent. With all nine boom booster sections installed it provides a maximum under hook height of 171 metres and can lift loads up to 97.5 tonnes.

Autaa general manager Lionel Autta said: “Demag offers an extraordinary range of cranes for erecting wind turbines, and all of them are easy to transport, fast to set up, and extremely versatile. The CC 3800 1 is particularly unbeatable in its class when combined with the Boom Booster kit. That combination turns the CC 3800 1 into a genuine wind turbine specialist that can reach a hook height of 174 meters and lift up to 80 tonnes at this height. This is something that normally only cranes in the 750 tonne class can do.”
