Second HK 40 for MSG

German crane rental company MSG Krandienst has taken delivery of second 40 tonne Tadano HK 40 truck crane.

Mounted on a four axle Volvo chassis, the HK 40 features a 35.2 metre main boom plus a nine metre swingaway extension to provide a maximum tip height of 47.5 metres and a maximum radius of 40 metres. The crane can also carry 5.5 tonnes of counterweight within a total gross vehicle weight of 33 tonnes. Features include separate engines for the chassis and the crane as well as asymmetrical outrigger configurations. It will be predominately used for prefabricated house construction and for further flung job sites.

MSG's new Tadano HK 40 truck crane


MSG managing director Björn Jatz, said: “The HK 40 has the best lifting capacity in its class. Tadano’s trademark dual-engine concept makes this crane a particularly economical solution for us, especially on our trans-regional projects.”

Established in 1994, MSG is based in Kehl with additional locations in Freiburg-Teningen as well as depots in Strasbourg and Mulhouse, France. The company employs 100 and runs a fleet of more than 40 All Terrain cranes between 40 and 750 tonnes.
