New service manager for Versalift UK

Versalift UK has appointed Derek Murdoch as service manager, reporting to product support manager, Neil Ashton.

Murdoch joins Versalift UK after five months working as an engineering after sales consultant and a year as service director for Gilgen Door Systems UK. He began his career in 2002 as an area service manager for Desser Wayne before joining SPC Process Equipment as a service development manager in 2006. The following year he joined Alimak Hek as offshore business segment manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa where he remained for 12 years before moving to Gilden in 2019.

Derek Murdoch joins Versalift UK as service manager


In his new role he will be responsible for Versalift UK's service department and team of field/workshop engineers as well as for overseeing all aftersales activities with the aim to improve customer service levels and efficiencies.

Murdoch said: “I am delighted to be joining the Versalift UK family as service manager. I’ve joined a great team and a premium brand at Versalift and I am confident I can bring my experience to the role and look forward to making a positive impact.”

Ashton added: “We are delighted to welcome Derek to the team at what is an exciting time of growth for Versalift UK. With his extensive knowledge, he is the right person to head up our aftersales activities. I am confident he will slot straight into our business, a key contributing factor we were looking for with his appointment. I know he is keen to hit the ground running so wish him well in his new role.”
