Five more for Zeppelin COO

Germany's Zeppelin group has renewed Peter Schrader’s contract as managing director and chief operating officer of Zeppelin Rental for another five year term.

Schrader joined Zeppelin more than 30 years ago in 1990 as a branch manager for the Dresden area. Four and half years later he was appointed sales director becoming managing director in 2004. His new contract takes effect at the start of the new year and will run until at least May 2026.

Supervisory board chairman, Michael Heidemann, said: “With Peter Schrader we have an experienced COO at the head of Zeppelin Rental, who has been responsible for the very successful development of rental for 17 years. He is consistently expanding the company's solution expertise and sales strength, opening up new markets and driving key innovations such as the ecoRent environmental brand or digital customer and sales tools. With the contract extension, we underline our appreciation for his high level of commitment and see this as a sustainable safeguard for the rental business.”

Schrader added: “I would like to thank the board and the shareholders for my reappointment and the trust they have placed in me, especially in these challenging times. The past year has once again shown what we can do for our customers even under difficult conditions. I am very proud of how we have made rental business a success and how we have established ourselves on the market as a true partner to our customers and as a pioneer in topics such as digitisation and sustainability. I am looking forward to working with a great team over the next five years to shape the strategic development of rental and the further growth of Zeppelin Rental. There are many exciting projects waiting for us."

Established in 1908, Zeppelin became the Caterpillar dealer for German in 1954, adding Czechoslovakia, Austria, Ukraine, northern Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, southern west Russia, Belarus and Armenia over the following 50 years. Today the company has six business divisions - rental, power systems, plant engineering and construction equipment - and employs more than 10,000 at 220 locations across 43 countries/regions. Its revenues for 2020 were €3.27 billion.
