Oshkosh expands board

Oshkosh, the parent company of JLG and Jerr Dan, has appointed Douglas Davis to its board of directors, taking its membership to 11.

Davis spent most of his career with Intel, having joined the chip producer in 1985. During his 35 years with the company he served in numerous roles, including a project engineer in its military division, general manager of the netbooks & tablets business, and general manager of its manufacturing and fabrication facility in Arizona. His time with the company culminated with two and a half years as senior vice president of Intel’s automated driving group, where his responsibilities included the initial formation and strategy for the automated driving business. During his time in the job, he helped established Intel as a leading provider of the chip technology used in self-driving cars.

Oshkosh chairman Stephen Newlin, said: “I am pleased to welcome Doug Davis to our board of directors. Doug is an accomplished executive with significant experience leading large and complex organizations and has a strong background in technology and operations, making him well qualified to serve our shareholders as a member of our board.”

Chief executive John Pfeifer added: “Doug’s extensive background in autonomous applications and intelligent systems will complement our innovative culture as we continue to incorporate advanced technologies in our product portfolio and position Oshkosh Corporation for future growth."

Davis currently sits on the board of publicly quoted Verra Mobility, a provider of smart mobility technology solutions and services in the US, Canada and Europe. He also serves on the board of privately held Digital Aerolus, a provider of commercial drones and supporting software.
