Ramirent acquires MaskinSlussen

Finnish rental company Ramirent, a wholly owned subsidiary of Loxam, has acquired Swedish rental company MaskinSlussen from owners Jonas Bostöm and Mikael Johnansson.

Established in 1988, MaskinSlussen offers a wide range of aerial work platforms, spider cranes and hoists, along with construction equipment and general tools from three locations in Västra Götaland, west of Sweden. It also offers temporary accommodation, containers, toilets and generators. In 2020, it had revenues of approximately €9 million and employs 44.

Ramirent chief executive Erik Bengtsson, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Maskinslussen in Ramissent. Their geographical presence and their competence make a very good fit to our existing operation. Together we can keep developing the rental market in Sweden.”

Loxam president Gérard Déprez, added: “The acquisition of MaskinSlussen demonstrates Loxam's commitment to the Nordic rental markets, and to further investing in the Ramirent platform. Loxam is always pleased to welcome new colleagues, with whom to share mutual expertise and common ambition to continuously improve the service we provide to our customers.”

Jonas Boström and Mikael Johansson added: "In an increasingly more competitive market, we have for some time sought to enter into a larger context with a strong owner. Ramirent stands for security, a long-term approach and a focus on people and the local market, which is in line with MaskinSlussen's values.”

Earlier this month Loxam also acquired Danish rental company JM Trykluft - see: Loxam acquires JM Trykluft.
