First Grove GRT 8100 in Indonesia

Indonesian crane rental and heavy haulage company Surabaya Express has taken delivery of the first 100 tonne Grove GRT8100 Rough Terrain crane to arrive in the country.

The new crane features a five section 47 metre main boom and a 10.1 to 17.1 metre bi-fold swingaway extension offering up to 40 degrees of offset. An additional 6.1 metre insert takes its maximum tip height to 73 metres. Features include a Cummins power unit with ECO mode and Grove’s Crane Control System. Its first job was on a port development in Jakarta, while the crane is aimed at the petrochemical and mining sectors.

Surabaya Express has taken delivery of the first 100t Grove GRT8100 in Indonesia


Surabaya Express general manager Pak Albert, said: “Most cranes offered by rental companies in Indonesia for mining or oil and gas are either below 80 tonnes capacity or well over 100 tonnes. This GRT8100 is one of the first 100 tonne Rough Terrains available and will give us a strong advantage in winning work in the growing energy industries.”
