New trailer from Scheuerle

German heavy duty trailer manufacturer Scheuerle has launched its latest modular K25 L platform vehicle for transporting loads with a high centre of gravity.

Designed for loads such as wind turbine components, transformers and generators, the K25 L can be configured with either two, three, four or six axle modules.

Scheuerle modular K25 L platform vehicle is ideal for wind turbine components

It offers maximum axle loads of 23 tonnes and can travel at speeds of 80km/h with axle loads of 13.9 tonnes. In spite of larger 285/70 R 19.5 tyres, it offers low platform heights of 875mm when loaded or 910mm when unloaded. It can either be combined with goosenecks, drawbars, swivel bolsters, bridges or tower adapters, or fitted with a power pack for self-propelled operation.

With a track width of three metres, the company claims it offers maximum stability as well as reduced risks of overturning when transporting wind tower segments with large diameters. Lifting and lowering is carried out by a power pack unit from its Z19 series, while swivel bolsters aid the transportation of long loads.
