AC 45 for NKS

German crane company Niessen Kran-Service (NKS) has taken delivery of a 45 tonne Demag AC 45 City crane for its rental fleet.

Joining a 40 tonne AC 40 and 70 tonne AC 70 city cranes in the company’s fleet, the AC 45 has a 31.2 metre main boom plus a 7.1 to 13 metre offsettable extension for a maximum tip height of 45 metres. The crane’s IC-1 Plus control and Flex Base systems automatically monitor the position of each outrigger to calculate the available load chart. It will be predominately used for concrete construction work as well as for indoor applications.

Co-owner Alexander Niessen, said: “This is the first time we have purchased a new crane – and it absolutely had to be a City crane. We all agreed on that. Its ability to telescope heavy loads makes it simply the best choice as far as we’re concerned. And it’s also unbeatable when it comes to working in tight spaces – above all, thanks to the Flex Base outrigger system which is really a fantastic enhancement to the IC 1 Plus control system.”

NKS was established in 2011 as a crane repair service company by brothers Alexander and Sebastian Niessen before acquiring a local crane rental company in 2016. Today the company runs a fleet of cranes with capacities ranging from 40 to 500 tonnes.
