Ulferts & Wittrock to leave System Lift

German rental group Ulferts & Wittrock is to pull out of System Lift, the German association of independent regional rental companies, at the end of the year.

According to System Lift, the decision was made "amicably after good discussions" between the two parties. Chief executive Leopold Mayrhofer said: "For the System Lift community, it is of elementary importance for our future success that we all pull together. The point has come where it has to be said that our corporate strategies no longer fit together in the future. From there, we decided together at an early stage to make a clean and fair cut and part ways at the end of the year."

Temmo Niekamp, managing director of Ulferts & Wittrock, added: "All parties have now reached a point where they are developing in parallel and independently of each other and are thus we are in each other's way in terms of strategic orientation. The growth and expansion goals set by our businesses are difficult to implement in a continuing partnership with System Lift. Therefore, we have jointly decided to end the cooperation. We would like to thank System Lift and members/partners for the long and successful cooperation."

System Lift thus loses 25 locations and around 175 mobile and crawler cranes as well as an extensive platform and telehandler fleet. System Lift has 80 partner/member companies with more than 20,000 machines spread over more than 135 branches.

Partnerlift is an alternative rental association in Germany. We asked its managing director, Kai Schliephake, about the news he simply said, with a wink and a smile: "Regional partners who want to remain independent entrepreneurs are of course always welcome here."
