Two injured in truck mount overturn

Two men were seriously injured in Germany on Tuesday last week, when the truck mounted lift they were working from overturned, due to one of the outriggers sinking into the ground.

The men, 46 and 45, were using the platform to work at a height of around 30 metres, on a high-voltage pylon at Rheinschanzinsel, the former site of a nuclear power plant near Phillipsburg, between Mannheim and Karlsruhe, Baden Württemberg.

The 46 year old was seriously injured and was airlifted to hospital by rescue helicopter, while his 45 year co-worker was taken to hospital by ambulance.
