Second 750t Liebherr for Paradiso

Italian crane rental company Fratelli Paradiso has taken delivery of a second 750 tonne Liebherr LG 1750 lattice truck crane.

Scheduled for wind turbine assembly in the Apulia region, the eight axle LG 1750 has been supplied with Liebherr’s SL8HS boom system which offers tip heights up to 125 metres without the need for a derrick boom. It has also been supplied with its SX3 boom system to lift wind turbine components weighing up to 127 tonnes to heights of up to 175 metres. The crane can travel with a gross vehicle weight of 96 tonnes/12 tonnes per axle or 48 tonnes with its outriggers removed.

Michele Paradiso (L) takes delivery of the company's new LG 1750 from Fabio Fenzi of Liebherr Italia

Chief executive Michele Paradiso, said: “We recognise a higher demand for high performance cranes in Italy and we want to grow further by focusing on large cranes and investing in Liebherr products and the Liebherr brand. We have chosen the SL8HS configuration with 119 meters, which is ideal for small to medium sized turbines. We don't have to set up a derrick system for this. That saves time and money. But we can easily extend the crane later, up to the new powerful SX3 system with 165 meters.”

Founded in 1967, family-run Fratelli Paradiso is led by second generation, Michele, Francesca and Silvia Paradiso. The company operates a fleet of cranes, including ten Liebherr cranes with capacities over 230 tonnes and a 1,200 tonne Liebherr LTM 11200.
