800 tonner for Darcy Pacheco

Brazilian lifting and special transport company Darcy Pacheco Soluções de Peso has taken delivery of an 800 tonne Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 All Terrain crane.

The company ordered the nine axle crane with the full 91 metre luffing jib option. It also features the company's VarioBase automatic outrigger set up and monitoring which integrates with the LICCON control system to maximise capacities for every set up selected. The new crane went straight to work at a power plant in the northeast of the country.

Maintenance director Eduardo Silva, said: “When we choose the LTM 1750-9.1, we had its high load capacities at large radii in mind. With this 800 tonne crane, we are able to perform services that we used to perform with crawler cranes, benefiting from greater mobility and the possibility of operating in more restricted locations. The new crane will operate mainly in the maintenance of industrial plants, such as petrochemicals, pulp industry and maintenance of wind farms.”

“Our partnership with Liebherr has been going on for years. We already had mobile cranes with capacities between 100 and 500 tonnes, and crawler cranes from 400 to 750 tonnes in our fleet. Now we have increased capacity with this 800 tonne mobile crane. We are excited about the possibilities this crane offers. Furthermore, technical support, product quality and the excellent relationship we have with Liebherr are always factors that we take into account when making a decision for the manufacturer.”

Darcy Pacheco was established in 1977 and is based near Port Alegre in southern Brazil. It comprises three companies: lifting work specialist Darcy Pacheco Soluções de Peso, wind turbine assembly and maintenance DPS Wind and heavy and special haulage service provider Pacheco Logística.

The three founding brothers Adauri, Ademilson and Adaureci Silva still sit on the board while Eduardo, Cristiane, Guilherme and Juliano Silva run the company with more than 800 employees. The crane fleet includes All Terrains up to the new 800 tonner, and crawler cranes to 750 tonnes.
