Liebherr MK 73-3.1 for Scholpp

German rental company Scholpp Kran & Transport has taken delivery of the first Liebherr MK 73-3.1 mobile self-erecting tower crane to be delivered to a rental company in the country.
The crane was officially handed over at Platformers’ Days last week – see: Successful debut at Karlsruhe.

Launched earlier this year, the three axle MK 73 can take its maximum six tonne capacity to a radius of 12 metres and has a maximum jib length of 38.5 metres in the horizontal trolley configuration with a tip capacity of 2,000kg. It can also luff up to 45 degrees to offer a maximum hook height of 51 metres with a maximum radius of 26.7 metres and a 1,850kg capacity.

The crane superstructure is entirely electric powered and operated either by the onboard generator or an onsite 63 or 32 amps mains power outlet. The crane has an overall length of 13.8 metres, a width of 2.75 metres and a travel height of four metres. Based at the company’s depot in Stuttgart, the crane will be used on tight inner city sites installing solar panels and air conditioning systems, rooftop greening and balcony assembly.

Established in 1956, Scholpp employs over 200 and has a fleet of around 70 cranes. Based in Stuttgart, it has depots in Leonberg, Karlsruhe, Heilbronn and Ludwigshafen.
