Another acquisition for Herc

US based Herc Rentals has acquired SkyKing Lift Rentals, an access rental business operating in the greater Chicago region.

SkyKing was established in January 2015 by Robert Mulvey and runs a fleet of relatively young mast type lifts, scissor lifts and boom lifts up to 60ft from Skyjack, Genie and JLG. It also recently added a trial batch of 19ft Sinoboom 1932 scissor lifts and runs a small fleet of Skyjack and Genie telehandlers. The addition of its location in Bensenville, on the North East side of Chicago, will take Herc’s Chicago area network to six locations.

At the same time Herc’s acquisition of Rapid Equipment in Toronto, Canada, has completed.

Chief executive Larry Silber said: “I am pleased to welcome Rapid Equipment and SkyKing to team Herc. With both teams now on board, we have significantly improved our coverage in the dynamic Toronto and Chicago equipment rental markets as we continue to serve a diverse mix of construction, industrial and government customers.”
