80 Manitous for Luibl

German rental company Luibl Rental & Sales has ordered 80 telehandlers and boom lifts from Manitou for delivery in 2022.

The order includes Manitou’s largest telehandler, the new 35 metre/7,000kg MRT 3570 Vision+, and a large number of Manitou MT fixed frame telehandlers, along with a full suite of Manitou boom lifts.

The move is part of the company’s plan to expand its telehandler line up and includes the four metre/2,000kg MT420 and six metre/2,500kg MT 625 compact models. It has also ordered some of the new nine metre/3,000kg MT 930 and classic four tonne models – the 14 metre MT 1440 and 18 metre MT 1840.

The 360 degree telehandler order includes the 18 metre/4,500kg MRT 1845 Vision and from the new Vision+ line up, it has taken units of the 22 metre MRT 2260, 26 metre MRT 2660 and 30 metre MRT 3060, all with 6,000kg lift capacity. The only model it has not ordered is the 25 metre/7,000kg heavy duty MRT 2570, where it chose the 26 metre/7,000kg Magni RTH 7.26s.

Luibl began formulating its new order at Platform Days in September starting with this MRT 3060 Vision Plus telehandler


The powered access order is made up of three models from Manitou’s industrial battery powered boom lift range, including the 33ft 120 AETJ-C 3D, 43ft 150 AETJ-C 3D and the 50ft 170 AETJ-L 3D, with rotating and articulating jibs. It also added the manufacturer’s new battery powered 59ft 200 ATJ E Rough Terrain articulated boom lift.

When it comes to classic Rough Terrain diesel models the order is made up of the 46ft 160 ATJ and its high capacity brother 160 ATJ+ , the 53ft 180 ATJ and 59ft 200 ATJ all with Stave V engines. It also added 66ft 220TJ+ and 86ft 280TJ telescopics.

Deliveries are due to run from the start of the new year through to the third quarter.

Luibl owner Karl Bauer said: “I checked out the newly developed Manitou MT 930 at the Platformers' Days exhibition and was impressed by its compact dimensions and respectable performance data. We also appreciate the high reliability and low downtime of Manitou telehandlers.”

"The new additions will be available with all accessories such as shovels, load hooks, long load hooks, winches, lattice boom winches, fold out work platforms including the special one with six metre extension arm for special operations. All machines are also equipped with trailer pins and radio remote controls."

Luibl is based in Passau, to the east of Munich, near the Austrian border. Its fleet includes telehandlers, forklifts, booms and scissor lifts from Manitou, Magni, Merlo, Genie, JLG, Holland Lift, HAB, PB and Niftylift, along with truck mounts from CTE, Oil & Steel, Ruthmann and Palfinger. It also claims that its fleet is one of the youngest in Europe, with an average age of around 24 months.
